Martin Dwyer was a law student and entertainments officer for Warwick University Students' Union. He stood for West Chalfont as Lieutenant Colonel Kojak Slaphead III (Bald Brummies Against The Big-Footed Conspiracy Party) in a 1994 by-election, and appeared on the "Partridge Over Britain" segment of Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge to debate the other candidates.

Dwyer turned up to the Knowing Me, Knowing You hustings with crowd supporters and political science tutor David Harrison, who he claimed was his father. In reality, his parents were "not that keen" on his activities.
