Jed Maxwell was an obsessive and mentally disturbed fan of Alan Partridge who attended An Afternoon with Alan Partridge at Linton Travel Tavern. He repeatedly telephoned Alan several times under various pseudonyms including "Mr. P. Nesshead".
Brush with Alan Partridge
Maxwell drove Partridge and two Irish television executives, Aidan Walsh and Paul Tool, to his house, where Alan was prentending to live as he didn't want Aidan and Paul to think he was living at the travel tavern. When they discovered Jed's shrine - a room plastered with Alan Partridge memorabilia, Walsh and Pool sneaked away, leaving Alan alone with Jed. After revealing a giant tattoo of Alan's face that he had spent fourteen hours on, Partridge admitted to him that he was "really scared". Alan tried to escape, but Jed restrained him with a headlock and the pair 'agreed' to be "best friends in the whole world". When Maxwell eventually let his idol leave the house, Partridge condemed him as a mentalist and fled in his car. As he drove off, Maxwell shouted: "Come back! I'll rip your blood head off!".
